This amazing card features Playful Heart Monkey and Proud Heart Cat in little cloud sail boats on a lake. Proud Heart Monkey seems to have a crush on Miss. Kitty. It is just adorable. The colors are so soft and dreamy as most of the Care Bear Cousins art seems to be. Inside of this card is the rest of the lake with some beautiful Elena style birdies who seem to be having a fun time playing. The writing on the front of this card is Metallic Blue foil, inside as well. This beautiful greeting card is AGC 1985. Stay tuned for more Care Bear Cousin Cards....
I just love this card. It is from 1970. It features a Holly Hobbie girl on the front working on some art on an easel. Then there is a little cut out on the easel where you can look to the inside of the cards little slate. Once you open the card you can see a cute little girl on the floor showing her doggie her art work. On the second section is the slate that can be colored by the receiver of the card and quickly erased by lifting the thin sheet. The details are so sweet. They remind me of the 70's for sure. That wall paper that goes from the front of the card to the inside and all the way to the end is a whoot. The color is reminiscent of the 70's.
I also love the wooden floor and the paintings on the wall. The outfits on these little darlings are so "Little House on the Prairie" , one of my favorite childhood programs. It's just some vintage old fashioned goodness by Holly Hobbie who really just always captured this style so perfectly. This is an American Greetings Card. This amazing card Illustrated by Barbi Sargent is a Master Piece. I have several of these that appear to be a set with this adorable Elephant and mouse. The back of the card identifies them as Buddy and Buddies. It is a Forget me not card from 1972. Barbie Sargent is the artists who created the beginnings of Strawberry Shortcake with a character from a line called Strawberrys. Barbi Sargent is still doing awesome works of art today with a line of characters called Katz. She also drew Murphy Mouse, Gretchen, Poppyseed and several others. I will be sharing a bunch of her other works here soon! Below I have also included an original drawing is her "Strawberrys" from 1973 with a card that looks alot like that character on a 1978 greeting card that I have.. Needless to say I'm a big fan of hers !
This cute little guy is called Murphy Mouse. He is an original character created by Barbi Sargent when she was at American Greetings for the many years she was an artist for them. I'm a big fan of puffy fluffy little critters. He is such a cute little guy. I love the expression on his face. He looks extra specially adorable popping out of this cheese block. This card is from 1974 AGC. These earlier cards have the copy right on the inside and back of card as well. The back middle has a Itty drawing of Murphy Mouse . It simply reads "Murphy" TM in yellow. It is an earlier card of this character as the name of the back starts to read
" Murphy Mouse" on the back on some at around 1976 with just an outline of the name with no color or tiny mouse by the logo as this one does. Some have the date and some don't mention this little guy being Murphy or Murphy Mouse at all. Also they do not seem to be signed by Barbi Sargent with the usual Barbi signature so I kinda just have to look out for them. Hope you enjoy my brief intro to Murphy Mouse. I have a whole Barbi Sargent area on the Retro Ephemera section dedicated specifically to her Greeting cards that feature her art work. You can check it out here at: http://www.vintageshortcakeephemera.com/barbi-sargent-greeting-cards.html . I am in the process of populating it now. I have many cards with her wonderful artwork. Stay tuned...... This Sweet Walking doll is a Valentine. The walking wheel with the little legs can be popped out and placed into the tabs beneath the dolls skirt to create a circular walking action. They gave her the name Valentina, so cute and appropriate. I own 2 other versions of this walking doll because I just love her dress and the cute big eyes. Even the colors just make this dreamy card irresistible. This one is addressed To a Granddaughter and is holding a lollipop with a heart on it. Not every version of this card has the lollipop. I will share the others in the future. If you would like to add one of these to your collection they are not very hard to find. Just let me know as I can send you to someone who is actually selling one right now. Hope you like her !
This beautiful Vintage card is a Birthday Card. One of the things that always draws me in to these Care Bear cousin cards are the amazing colors that are used and how much detail is put into the background. This card once again does not disappoint. This one is AGC 1985. It is also signed by Elena as most of these are. So sweet!
This adorable card is a "Babies First Valentine's Day" Card. I saved this one for today for Valentine's Day. Everything about this card is adorable. I love how the little baby is interacting with his favorite Care Bear friend. Of course what better bear than Tender Heart Bear to be this Valentine's Day Bear. The letters of the front of this card are metallic gold. This card is a AGC 1985 FORGET ME NOT. Super CUTE! Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day ! This pretty card features Bo sitting while holding a cute white bunny in her arms, The colors of this card are very soft and sweet. I love the pink and white stripped frame around the front image with the tiny tulips also, It has the impression of being stitched just like Bo is. The front image has been embossed as well. This card is by Hallmark Cards Inc. 1974. It is also marked as a CHARMERS card. Adorable!
This is a beautiful American Greetings Vintage Holly Hobbie Stationery set. The box is as beautiful as the papers and envelopes inside. The printing on the stationery is bright and vibrant. This set has the words " Good friends are only a smile away". So true, so sweet. This set comes with 24 decorated sheets , 24 Plain sheets, and 24 decorated envelopes. It is marked AGC 1976 . I have a soft spot for the Holly Hobby Blue Girl outfit. This one and the side view, Reminds me of my childhood in the late 70's.
This little card stole my heart the first time I saw it. The giant red bow with the white polka dots. Add the cute little old fashion dress, stocking and shoes and I was hooked ! I also love the long pig tails. So adorable. I am a big fan of cards with more images on the inside. This Forget Me Not card from 1980 has a foil heart on the inside with the words "Official Member DAUGHTERS HALL OF FAME". This is such a sweet card.
